Leszek Nowak

Leszek Nowak – b. 1943 in Więckowice (powiat Brzesko), d. 2009 in Poznań. He worked in the Faculty of Law (until 1970) and later in the Insititute of Philosophy of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. From 1981 to 1984 he was the vice dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences.  He was the co-creator of the Poznań School of Methodology and its leading representative. He was interested primarily in the philosophy and methodology of natural science and humanities, epistemology, social philosophy, and metaphysics. His main works were: Studia nad teoretycznymi podstawami humanistyki (Studies on the Theoretical Foundations of Humanities, with J. Kmita; 1968), Interpretacja prawnicza. Studium z metodologii prawoznawstwa (Legal Interpretation. A Study on the Methodology of Legal Studies, 1973), Zasady marksistowskiej filozofii nauki.
